The Fruit, the Fingernail, and
the French Fry Foreshadow

Harry

Meanwhile back in Library Land the Royal Meeting was still being held; sometimes they can take a month or two to finish. An unexpected intruder barged in the room and demanded to be heard, it was the Duchess Patricia, Ruler of Child Land and Land of Small Creatures.

“I, the Duchess would love the opportunity to be the new Bookshelf Queen, why was I not invited?” to which Agatha replied “Never has there been a queen so vile, and never will there be. This is a meeting for real Kings and Queens, not promotional titles”.

“Never have I been so insulted. I deserve a chance, don’t I?” the Duchess looked around for anyone to agree with her but no one seemed to care about her outburst. The duchess waited anxiously for anyone in the room to agree with her but no one said a word.

The Duchess has one of the loudest voices in all of Library Land and she never hesitates to scream whenever she doesn’t get her way.

She was about to scream when Harry stepped out of his invisibility cloak and asked “Please do not scream. You know even if they wanted to give you the crown they can’t, so why are you angry?”

“How would you feel if everyone you knew, hated you little boy?”

“I know how it feels, trust me” said Harry in a calming tone while he raised his wand and the Duchess became frozen where she stood. “I didn’t mean to do that. I swear. It was supposed to make er feel happy”.

“Looks like you blasted her with a freezing spell Harry” said King Stephen in response.

“That was supposed to...” He decided to break the tension by awwardly singing “Another One Stupified” and danced a merry polka. During his dancing he tripped over the throne and broke a staff leaning against it. “Chea” said the Wizard Snowman.

No one contemplated the sudden appearance of the snowman because it seemed wizards appear all the time around here.

Agatha told Harry, in order to fix the staff he must go on a journey to find the rettop fingernail; the only problem was that no one knew where it was located anymore. To find it he must acquire, and bring back, the magical fruit from the rare La-la-Gollum tree. Harry agreed and called upon his magical unicorn and left.

“That should get rid of him for a while” said Agatha as they continued the meeting.

Harry and the unicorn travelled for many hours and the whole time he thought about the events of the meeting. He hasn’t messed up a spell in decades so he kept asking himself why did she freeze? He also swore the staff was hanging on the wall when he entered the room but couldn't prove it. He was brought back to reality when he spotted three trolls blowing bubbles ahead. He signaled for his unicorn to run away for his own safety. When the unicorn ran the trolls spotted Harry.

They ran at him and started blowing bubbles into his eyes, attempting to distract him from seeing their faces. Harry started swinging his wand around trying to block the bubbles but there were just too many and he became overwhelmed. Hermoine appeared in the nick of time to cast the spell to save Harry, turning all three trolls into squirrels.

Two squirrels started scurrying right away but the smallest stayed in place and stared at them. Harry thought it was trying to tell them something but as they took a step it ran away. The squirrel climbed up the nearest tree and knocked down a giant piece of fruit.

“This must be the fruit; look how it’s glowing” said Harry.
“What do you mean Harry” and he realized she had no idea what he was doing so he filled her in on everything that’s happened.

Suddenly a really bad storm started to form (The same one from Alvin’s perspective earlier) and Harry and Hermoine had to seek shelter.

“These storms aren’t normal Harry. Someone is manipulating the weather somehow. What’s going on with Library Land?”

“Do you know how crazy that sounds Hermoine. No one has the power to control Library Land itself; not even the Bookshelf King. I’m hungry though, are you hungry too?” Harry pulled out the fruit and asked if they should eat it. When Harry said they could just get another one when the storm passes, even Hermoine couldn't find a reason not to eat it, and they did.

Right after they were done taking the last bite, they sunk into their chairs and stared into the fire; completely lost in their own thoughts. They didn't know whether they stared into the fire for minutes, or hours; but they were startled by a figure appearing out of it.

“Hey! look it's that guy from the history book Hermoine”

“Don't be rude Harry, that's the Playwright Prince himself, William Shakespeare”.

“Sorry. Hello Mr. Prince” Harry smirked at Hermoine.

“Do not worry about the path you're upon; learn friend from foe and you'll do fine.
Know not, what you, or your friends will do. For some of us... precious... is time.
Under a mushroom and within a tree; sits a gift more precious than gold.
It may become your undoing but that's another day’s story to be told”.

Shakespeare vanished after saying this. Both Harry and Hermoine decided to go to bed to get an early start on their adventure tomorrow. When they awoke, the storm had subsided. “Time to get another fruit and head back to Central Bookshelf Harry”

On their way across the bridge they ran into a giant maze.

“Was this always here Hermoine? I don't remember that being here; I could have sworn this was where the forest was. I'm almost sure of it”.

As they were walking into the maze, a voice could be heard behind them saying
“It's still a divinity that shapes our ends, no matter how well you sing”.

“You did hear that right Harry?”
“Shakespeare, yeah”
“I never thought I'd have the honour of meeting one of the Legends. I'll always remember that encounter for the rest of my life”
“He's not a legend Hermoine, he's just an old King”
“He fought in Word War 1 and led numerous armies through Word War 2; I say he's earned legendary status. Have you ever wondered why Poetry Peak is the best place to create spells? Think about it. The man is magic”
“Well I wouldn't say the best; what about the Central Bookshelf Marketplace?”
“That’s the biggest place to buy and sell spells, but the strongest and longest lasting spells are made at Poetry Pea...”.

Hermoine went silent when she noticed a dark figure and a tiger approaching them, both Harry and Hermoine drew their wands.
They were a very unusual pair because he was an elf with a three eyed tiger.
The elf introduced himself as Niche and said he was an outcast amongst the elves.

“awwe look at this cute kitty, does your third eye have magical powers?” Harry asked trying to be silly when he was pinching it’s cheeks.

“I can see... through things” replied the tiger.

Harry jumped back in surprise because it’s not every day you see a three eyed talking tiger. He suddenly felt bad about treating him like a kitten and kinda stepped back.

”I know what you’re looking for. I see it clearly. Would you like me to help you find it”
asked the tiger.

“How do you know what we’re looking for? And how do we know if we can trust you” asked a suspicious hermoine.

“The eye sees everything. I don’t need to help you, in fact, now I don’t think I want to” The tiger was walking away when Harry stopped him. “Please help us”
“Okay, let’s go” Shiblets said rather quickly.
“Before we set off do you have a name tiger?” asked Hermoine.
“The name's Shiblets, Arthur Shiblets. Pleasure to meet you”

After walking all day they made it to a clearing and Harry felt incredibly drained. He needed to nap but wasn't allowed. Shiblets just kept saying “We're close” or “Not too much longer”. Harry arrived at an area with a bunch of rocks. “That’s it Harry. Go in there and dig, none of us are allowed but you” Shiblets pointed towards a circle in the center of the rocks where an ominous glow was coming up from the ground.

Harry dug for an hour straight, the light getting brighter with every shovel full. When Harry hit bottom he found a chest and brought it out. The light dimmed away when he placed it on the ground. The light was coming from a crest on the chest, it was a triangle made of three little triangles. “This is so cool”

Harry couldn’t open it by hand and had to use magic to do it. When he opened the chest he saw a bright white light fly away and fainted. When Harry opened his eyes and noticed it was just him and Hermoine and he didn’t recognize where they were.

“Where did they go? What Happened to me?”

“We will discuss that shortly, we don’t have long before Shiblets is back. This is Jyd, McMuff, and Anhel. They saved you and brought us here. We found out something very bad Harry. Shiblets is a sh...” Hermoine stopped because she heard the sound of bass approaching as a Hummer pulled up and hit a tree. The man opened up the door and fell to the ground

“He’s not moving. Is he dead? Asked Jyd.
“Nope, he’s crawling, h better not be a vampire or something. Those have been gone for centuries.” said Anhel before McMuff replied “I think he's a zombie bro”

Someone was cooking french fries over the bonfire and forgot about them, they caught fire and ignited. A man named Jay Daws was staring at the fire, mesmerized by the flames; he foresaw a great battle. From the mists of his mind, a gargantuan monster appeared; it could only have been Zilla.

He stood with a female figure staring in Jays direction but behind him, so Jay turned around and saw King Kong standing with a young man. Jay looked around and everything was different, it was a place he's never been, some desert. He woke up and the first thing he saw was Harry and Hermoine. He thought to himself

“That’s the kid from my dream. This means something. I know it”.
